A photograph of the Lebanese writer Elias Khoury is published in the French daily newspaper Le Monde (supplement Afrique) to illustrated a conversation between him and the Egyptian writer Ahmed Naji, ten years after the "Arab Spring" (January 23, 2021).

The "Grand Prix de la Francophonie" goes to Alexandre Najjar.

Alexandre Najjar, lebanese writer, journalist and lawyer, won the « Grand Prix de la Francophonie » of the French Academy. The award goes to a francophone writer who « contribute significantly in his country as well as internationally in preserving and embodying the French language ».

His is represented in the book « Portraits d’Auteurs / Author Portraits » (Carlsson 2020) which present a collection of 78 black and white portraits of international writers.
